You press a keyboard shortcut and a shortened URL (using goo.gl) to an image in your Apple Photostream is put into your clipboard. Or get a link to any other file in your Public Folder of Dropbox.

First you must obtain an API Key for goo.gl URL shortener.

1. Sign in with your Google Account
2. Go here: https://code.google.com/apis/console#access 
3. “Generate New Sever Key” -> “Create”
4. Copy the “API Key”, you will have to paste it to the script later
5. Download the workflow, unzip it and move it to /Users/yourUser/Library/Services/
6. Open the workflow with Automator
7. Replace 1234567 with your Dropbox User ID that you can get from a Public link of yours (the number after /u/)
8. Replace HereGoesYourGooGlAPIKey with the API Key from Step 4
9. Save the workflow
10. Go to Systemsettings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard shortcuts ->Services and find your new workflow in the section “Files and Folders”
11. Assign a shortcut to it. For example “cmd + alt + c”
12. Go to your Dropbox Public Folder, select a file and press your shortcut. You should then have a “goo.gl” URL in your clipboard!
13. To have your Photostream in your Dropbox create a symbolic link to to it in the Public folder: Open Terminal and type “ln -s /Users/myusername/Library/Application\ Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub /Users/myusername/Dropbox/Public/sub”
14. Now have a tea while your whole photostream is uploaded to Dropbox
15. Navigate to the photostream folder “/Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub”
16. Do a search with Cmd + f  for “Type is Image” and save the search (Choose a filetype if you don’t want iOS screenshots for example (PNG files)
17. Now click that new sidebar item at any time and get a list of all your photostream photos
18. Use your shortcut and you get a public URL, shortened with goo.gl in your clipboard!

Remember that all your photostream photos are now in your public folder on Dropbox. This means anyone can access them IFF he knows the exact URL. But thanks to the hashed folder the photos are in this is still pretty safe!

This guide helps you to build a relatively cheap webcam server with Dropbox integration.

All you need is a USB webcam (~20€), a TL-MR302  router from TPLINK (~25€) and a little time. Oh, and of course a Dropbox Account.  

What you will get in the end is a scheduled upload of webcam pictures to your Dropbox.

1. Get the TL-MR3020 connected to your computer (Ethernet cable) according to its User Guide. 
2. Download this firmware image. It will replace the manufacturer’s firmware with OpenWrt, a special Linux distribution for embedded devices.

Hier seht ihr eine Wiedergabeliste mit Songs, die einen unterschiedlichen “iCloud-Status” haben (Rechtsklick auf Spaltenüberschrift, “iCloud-Status” anwählen) .

1. “Gefunden” (engl. Matched): Das Lied ist im Store vorhanden. Meine lokale Datei habe ich gelöscht. Das Lied existiert momentan nicht auf meiner Platte. Ein Klick auf das Icon lädt die Datei aus der Cloud (die Version aus dem Store, 256kbit AAC).
2. Ebenfalls “Gefunden”, habe ich aber schon durch die Datei aus dem Store ersetzt. Zu erkennen an Art: “Abgeglichene AAC-Audiodatei”. 
3. Genauso von iTunes “Gefunden” (gematcht) wie 1., hab aber noch meine Originaldatei auf der Festplatte.
4. Dieses Lied wurde nicht im Store gefunden von iTunes, deshalb wurde es hochgeladen. Meine lokale Kopie ist jetzt auch in der iCloud. Status: “Übertragen”
5. Diese Datei ist noch im Prozess “gematcht” oder hochgeladen zu werden.
6. “Dupliziert” wurde hier aus dem engl. nicht ganz passend übersetzt. Für “Duplicate” sollte eigentlich “Duplikat” hier stehen. Dieses Lied existiert exakt genauso noch einmal in meiner lokalen Bibliothek. Das Icon steht neben jenem Lied von den beiden gleichen, das NICHT auf iCloud geladen (“gematcht” oder “übertragen” ) wurde.
7. Hier leigt irgendein Fehler vor. Apple schlägt “Store -> iTunes Match aktualisieren” vor, oder alternativ eine andere Version des Liedes zu iTunes hinzufügen.
8. “Ungeeignet” aufgrund einer zu geringen Bitrate. Ebenfalls ungeeignet sind Videos, PDFs, iTunes LP Dateien und Streams.

Lieder upgraden:

Wenn ein Lied den Status “Gefunden” hat und eure lokale Kopie eine geringe Bitrate (<256kbit) aufweist, könnt ihr sie durch die “iTunes-Store-Version” ersetzen.
Dazu einfach das Lied löschen (nicht den Haken setzen bei “Dieses Objekt auch aus der iCloud löschen” ) und dann auf das iCloud Icon das in der “Wolken-Spalte” erscheint. Der Song lädt jetzt runter. 
WICHTIG: Es bleiben “Zähler”, “Hinzugefügt”-Datum und alle anderen Einträge des Liedes wie “Titel”, “Interpret”, “Kommentar” erhalten. Diese werden nicht aus dem Store übernommen.

Intelligente Wiedergabeliste erstellen mit allen Liedern die “upgradebar” sind.

1. Alle Lieder mit einer Bitrate <256 kbit. Das schließt alle Lieder aus dem Store und alle bereits upgegradeten aus.
2. Nur Musik, schließt Videos aus.
3. Durch Drücken der alt Taste werden aus dem “Plus” Zeichen ganz rechts drei Punkte. So fügt ihr die 2 Kriterien unter “Beliebige der folgenden Bedingungen werden erfüllt” die folgenden Kriterien hinzu.
4. “iCloud Status ist gefunden”: Schließt alle Lieder aus, die von iTunes hochgeladen wurden. Diese wollt ihr euch ja nicht nochmal runterladen, da sie logischerweise “baugleich” mit eurer lokalen Kopie sind.
5. “iCloud Status ist gekauft”: Alle Lieder, die ihr im Store gekauft habt.

Hier gibt’s für euch eine Möglichkeit, wie ihr die den Live Stream der Tagesschau in QuickTime X in H.264 ansehen könnt, falls ihr die Flash Version von tagesschau.de nicht mögt ;-)!

Öffnet dazu einfach eine der URLs mit “cmd + U” (Ablage” -> URL öffnen).

Hier könnt ihr das ganze zusätzlich auch als AppleScripts laden, die QuickTime automatisch mit der jeweiligen URL starten (Lässt sich mit iCal wunderbar jeden Abend um 20:00 fetlegen). 

Auf dem iPad/iPhone aufgerufen, lässt sich der Stream auch im Browser ansehen. Es sei aber trotzdem an dieser Stelle auf die klasse tagesschau App verwiesen!
